Today is 10th Dec...Its exactly seven months before that I first took lunch in a our university canteen...Yeah!! you know its memorable...because I browsed through all the food items listed and could found only 'rice' and 'salad' which was edible for me.........Though I can eat fish, but I never liked it and in japanese canteens, somehow I cant stand the smell of fish!!!!!Sorry but I hate it. Meat is an option but yes, I dont like taking non-halal meat...So everyday lunch time was very gloomy for me...because I am lazyyyyyy enough to cook and carry the lunch box...
So I tried another option which I always love doing.... There is a popular proverb in hindi 'lifafa dekh ke mazmun bhampna' i.e to guess the content of the letter by looking at the envelope... So I just do that while eating that delicious !!! rice and raw cabbage...I go to canteen in its 'just after peak' hours when fish smell is relatively less :) and then take my favorite 'bowl of rice' and 'plate of salad' and sit in a corner table from where I can see more people. I hate eating alone but now that I have got this idea of looking at everyones face and think retrospectively what is he/she is thinking at that moment....I am enjoying my rice with salad option........
I am generally a 'first impression....' type person...I judge people very quickly...just with few words exchanged and at times just with the first look.... Most of the times I turned out to be right in my judgement but there was a miss few times----turning out fatal!!!!!!!!
Anyways you know...its great fun looking at all the varieties of expressions which are the product of countless different thoughts....myriads of emotions...Its amazing!!!!! The important thing is I do not understand anything what they speak so I am completely unbiased and purely expression driven!!!!!!!!!
I noticed quite amusing things during this process... here people bring lunch boxes tied in a square shaped big handkerchief which I remember doing in my village looooooong ago when i was small and we were carrying sweet dishes (siwaiyan) on eid to everyones house...I dont know whether it still exists in my village or not especially now that we have all sophisticated tiffin boxes etc.... surprising thing is in japan people carry all those lovely lunch boxes but that is tied with that great colored piece of cloth!!! I have not asked anyone though...
I also felt little strange when I saw japanese boys carrying keychains with lots of small teddy bears, beads etc ( i mean more than girlyyyy)...Anyways they are all nice people...I just feel a bit strange...

garage means STORES
I had a hearty laugh today...alas! I had to laugh alone....noone to accompany me...let me tell you why...Sorry guys...dont be dissapointed when I say I met with an accident and laughed my heart out...Anyways...I think it was not me rather I should say english language met with a deadly funny accident in this land of rising sun...May be Cambridge and Oxford Dictionaries are already got 'shock death' by 'nihongo english'...By now you must have a guess already...Yeah...today a masters student was carrying a lot of lab stuff in boxes, I was nice enough to offer him help...and he says its okey, because I am just going to put these in 'GARAGE' and its not far!!! I was thinking which garage is he going to put pipet tips...and meanwhile I went to open the door for him (thinking about the real garage which at least I expect to be in ground floor)...And then he said no thanks 'here is the garage'....imagine he pointed towards the 'store room' at the end of the corridor......... I swear I could not control my laugh...But I did not want to offend him...To my excuse came the washroom. I just escaped there and laughed and laughed..............So guys 'GARAGE' means 'STORES'....
